Today, 60 years later, we offer an amazing selection of quality products featuring locally made artisan foods, sustainable seafood, local and organic produce, specialty cheeses, hot and cold deli offerings, a large hand picked selection of wine and spirits, and yummy baked goods. In addition, we have one of the finest meat departments in Northern California. Meet Richard and Chica from Bellingham, Washington. “We come through here every couple of years. Chica is the best traveling companion. She just sits up there and takes in the views. Last night at our campground, she alerted me to a gang of raccoons who were ransacking the camp next to us. We love the Mendocino Coast and we always love coming to Surf Market. We are heading to Bodega Bay next, then San Francisco. Chica is the best dog, ever. She keeps me company and she’s a great listener. In fact, dogs are angels on earth.”

We have made space for more than 350 new items for your customers which always adds energy and excitement. I have been doing this kind of work for more than 30 years and I have to tell you, Surf Market is a really special place and I love coming to the coast. Leon is the farmer behind Wiseacre Farm in Point Arena. Using organic practices, Leon’s fruits and vegetables are some of the most meticulous specimens we have ever seen and they are extraordinarily delicious. These organic sour cherries don’t look real. They have bright green stems the most vibrant, hot red color and there is not a blemish or bruise to be found. Sour cherries are used for pies, galettes and jams and they do pack a sour punch. But,with the addition of sugar, the tartness quiets and that classic cherry flavor shines through in the very best way. Come find Leon’s locally and organically grown sour cherries here at Surf Market. Here’s to Leon and his incredible talents as a farmer and steward of the land. 🍒 (Note: No filter was used in this picture- the cherries are that color in person. Kyndal found his sobriety in prison and has been clean and sober for 59 months, walked more than 4500 miles and is on day 485 of walking across America.
